About Cairns Classic Modern Porsche Services Melbourne
Cairns services began in 1979 with Owner George Cairns, who ran his workshop out of a shed in Ferntree Gully. George worked for Porsche in the 1970's and became a well respected technician in Melbourne, Victoria, through his exceptional attention to detail and customer service. A participant in the Early Porsche cup series along side Ed Atkins (Famous Pink 959). He then progressed onto Tarmac Rally's with the inception of Targa 1992. Since then the company has participated in every Targa Tasmania that followed. George has Passed on his extensive amount of knowledge to apprentices and employees over the years. George's son Shaun a tool maker has gone on to become one of the directors. George is still an active member of the team.
In 2012 the company moved to a new Porsche Centre in Melbourne, located in Hallam Victoria, and became known as Cairns Classic Modern Porsche services (CCMPS), with 2 new directors Zig and Nik along side Shaun. The new workshop and showroom focuses on outstanding customer service with a Bar, Lounge and 2 racing simulators for customer enjoyment.
